Trains The train system is undergoing a modernisation program at present so it is advisable to check times of trains at Campello Station. There is a local train service which runs from Alicante to Denia via Benidorm and back. It takes about 2 hours 20 minutes to do the whole trip. The local station is called "Amerador" and is situated at the rear (beach end) of "Alkabir" down the steps, turn left then up the hill, you'll find it on you right. Its cheaper to buy a return ticket which you can purchase from machine on the train (just press the English language button). Trains run every hour during the day but in July and August they also run every two hours during the night. Check the timetable for times you can obtain this from Campello station ticket office. Obviously the train is a great deal cheaper than a taxi! The markets of Altea, Benidorm, Villajoyosa and Campello are best reached by train. Also great to reach Alicante town and San Juan beach (get off at Palameral station). If you book Terra Mitica theme park at Campello station you can travel there and back for free.
